David Levy, J.D.
Associate Criminal Defence Lawyer
David Levy is an Associate at David G Bayliss Professional Corporation. David joined the firm in 2019, prior to which, he was a Staff Lawyer at Innocence Canada. (formerly the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted) David in that role, managed Innocence Canada’s extensive case load, and worked closely with senior counsel in an effort to correct miscarriages of justice across Canada.
Most importantly, David at Innocence Canada, grew to appreciate the high stakes of a criminal charge and the indefinite toll that a criminal conviction can take on an individual and their family. These considerations inform the dedicated approach he brings to each day at David G Bayliss Professional Corporation.
David earned his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University in 2016. There, he volunteered for the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic, assisting federal inmates with their grievances and disciplinary hearings. David also volunteered for the Queen’s chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada, and as a founding writer and editor for Juris Diction, the Queen’s Law online newspaper.
In his spare time, David enjoys soccer, reading, and banter with friends and family. He is currently studying conversational French and recently completed his first marathon.
